We fact check the school board meetings and provide the information you need to make an informed decision this November.
In a recent statewide training (State Bar of Texas School Law Retreat), school district attorneys were reminded to use "ambassadors" to deal with parents who have concerns or questions. Ambassadors are adults who act as cheerleaders for the district and bully and belittle parents who think for themselves. Ambassadors attack and defame free-thinking board members, as well as parents who question the district, allowing the district to keep a clean public image. The School Health Advisory Council consists of parent, community, and District volunteers and is required by Texas law to be majority parents. From the website: "The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) was created to assist the district in ensuring that local community values and health issues are reflected in the district’s health and physical education instruction." Texas law requires every School District to have a School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and CISD has had a SHAC for 15+ years. The Biden administration's Department of Education rewrote Title IX to redefine gender, effectively giving biological males identifying as girls access to girl's safe spaces.
These are books with graphic sexual content often containing detailed accounts of rape and incest.
This is a local policy introduced to the CISD School Board for consideration address gender fluidity and parental notification. It failed.

On July 16, 2024 this teacher spoke before the board and told her story. In 2021 Conroe ISD teachers were told to withhold information about children's gender transition from parents. This brave teacher said NO!
In May 2024, this discussion is brought before the board.
The four progressive board members were not supportive of protecting girls' safe spaces or protecting teachers from being compelled to use preferred pronouns.
In June 2024 this resolution is brought before the board. Trustee Nelson is belittled and made fun of for her effort. The resolution fails.
June 19th, 2024 Dr. Null states that they have never had any issues and do not need a policy.
Trustee Skeeter Hubert admits he never watched a SHAC meeting for himself, seemingly relying entirely on administrators opinions. Sept. 2023

There is an attempt to disenfranchise Trustee Odenweller and her right to ask questions and get her point across. Sept. 2023
Trustee Odenweller gathered facts directly from Dr. Null and an AP teacher and found that only 2 books on the list of "recognized authority on AP books" books are not in the library. Students will have access to these 2 books with parent permission.
This is a gender fluid book with information about transitioning including websites in the back of the book.
